Safe Harbors continues to thrive because Ellenby has always focused on helping customers manage their travel budgets as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible, regardless of fluctuations in the marketplace. He is a keen observer of the business travel industry, with a particular understanding of airlines, auto rental and hotel suppliers.
Ellenby first explored the world while in the US Navy stationed aboard the aircraft carrier USS America as a Meteorologist. He subsequently applied his technological skill and love of travel at Safe Harbors, which he joined in 1990.
Ellenby has a B.S. in management and marketing from Widener University. He served as Chairman for theAmerican Society of Travel Agents (ASTA), Former Chairman of the Harford County Chamber of Commerce, previous Board member of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and current Chairman of Visit Harford! He has also been Chairman of the Commonwealth Business Travel Group (CBTG) and Maryland State Wrestling Association (MSWA/USA Wrestling) while serving on multiple advisory boards throughout the country.
Ellenby has received multiple awards and recognitions and recently received the Lifetime to Service Award from the State of Maryland as a wrestling coach. A resident of Bel Air, Maryland, Ellenby enjoys coaching high school wrestling, running, skiing, the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and spending time with his family.
